The Dodgeball tournament is an annual event hosted by hosted by Maine East Rotary Interact in which students purchase tickets to play dodgeball and the profit is donated to global initiatives such as economic stability for Kenya or ENDPOLIONOW.

Digital Literacy

Recently, the Park Ridge Center of Concern has reached out to members of the Maine East High School Rotary Interact Club in regards to a new 21st century volunteer initiative titled “Digital Literacy.” Through this initiative, East Interact and the Center of Concern aims to help close the digital divide between senior citizens and millennials. Over the course of a month, Maine East’s Interact members have worked hard to create easy-to-follow lesson plans oriented around Internet services, such as Facebook and YouTube, providing seniors with tools and new means of communication to reach friends/family. As a team, these members visited senior citizens at The Summit of Uptown, an assisted living community in Park Ridge, and through their efforts, Maine East Rotary Interact not only taught seniors about technology, but brought smiles to every senior’s face along the way.
